It depends on the model. The FireCan Deluxe is designed for cooking and comes with a grease tray to keep things clean and safe.

For the Original and Elite FireCans, we don't recommend cooking directly over the flame. These models are built for warmth, not food prep, and any grease or food that drips into the burner can damage the unit.

If you want to roast marshmallows on the Deluxe, just keep them off to the side rather than directly over the flame, so nothing drips down into the burner.
