How much money and waste does the TapRack save vs disposable 1 lb propane bottles?Updated 24 days ago
TapRack helps you save money and reduce waste by letting you refill Ignik 15.5 oz bottles at many bulk propane refill stations, instead of repeatedly buying single-use 1 lb “green” bottles.
Money savings (simple math)
A “full rack” refill (4 bottles) replaces buying up to four disposable 1 lb bottles.
Disposable bottles often cost several dollars each (sometimes $7–$10+ depending on where you buy them).
A bulk propane refill is priced by the gallon, and a full TapRack refill is roughly about 1 gallon or less of propane.
That means many customers can save roughly $20–$35+ per full 4-bottle refill, and in higher-priced areas it can be up to around $40.
Does TapRack “pay for itself”?
If you’re saving roughly $20–$30 per full refill, TapRack can pay for itself in about 4–5 full refills for many customers. (Actual payback depends on local propane prices and what you were paying for disposables.)
Waste savings (simple rule of thumb)
Every time you refill:
1 bottle refilled = ~1 disposable bottle avoided
4 bottles refilled = ~4 disposable bottles avoided
Examples:
5 full refills = about 20 disposable bottles avoided
10 full refills = about 40 disposable bottles avoided
25 full refills = about 100 disposable bottles avoided
