What is the heat output and propane consumption of each FireCan?Updated 6 hours ago
The Original FireCan and FireCan Deluxe has a heat output of about 38,000 BTU/hr on its high setting. In general, 1 gallon of propane can output about 91,500 BTU. Our 5 lb. Gas Growlers hold roughly 1.2 gallons of propane, so a full Gas Growler will run the FireCan on max setting for approximately 2.5 - 3 hours. High altitude and low temperatures can affect propane burn efficiency, so these numbers may vary depending on conditions.
Our Firecan Elite has a heat output of about 50,000 BTU/hr on its highest setting, resulting in a little over 2 hours of use with one of our 5lb Gas Growers (again on the highest setting). In the lowest setting, the FireCan Elite Draws 33,000 BTUs/hr resulting in a little over 3 hours of use with the same Gas Growler.
For the best performance, we recommend pairing the FireCan Elite with a 10lb tank or larger.
